European Topic Centre on Biological Diversity (ETC BD) - Data quality control

space4environment is a member of the ETC BD since 2014. Using its profound GIS and database knowledge space4environment is responsible for the quality control of data reported by the EEA Member States under Article 12 and 17 of the Habitat Directive as well as data on national protected sites (CDDA).

To ensure a functional and optimised dataflow space4environment also serves as a connection point between the EEA and the countries during their reporting processes providing guidance and technical assistance in the generation of files ready for the reporting.

The ETC BD has entrusted and “outsourced” the full range of GIS services to space4environment, including maintenance and development of scripts for an automated data validation, the production of the integrated European layers and subsequent thematic analyses of the data.
